Always design to peak rate, not average. If you cannot confirm the peak from the customer, use 1.5x the stated average as your working number until it is confirmed in writing.

Footprint & Destinations

Space constraints and sort destinations

Rule: Loop sorters require a closed loop floor path. If your building cannot accommodate a loop, loop technologies are eliminated.

High destination counts favor loop sorters. If you are above 20 destinations and your floor allows it, a loop is almost always the right answer. Below 10, a line sorter is usually more cost effective.
